The Case for e-learning
While e-learning is not a panacea it has obvious benefits:
1) Centralized curriculum and content Easy to update and cost-effective to maintain2) Consistent delivery of material Delivery is not dependent upon an instructor's consistency; there is a common platform and message for all employees in the company3) No long lectures Modules include only the necessary information, and then challenge the student with interactive exercises, problems and simulations.4) Cost effective No airfare, hotels, meals, and less time off the job can produce up to 30-60% savings over the cost of face-to-face training5) Higher retention Just in time learning doubles retention rates because it is more personalized and more accessible.6) Courses are usually modular Employees study only what they need to learn and presumably what is of interest to them7) Anytime, anywhere learning Start when it is convenient and move along as rapidly or slowly as desired or required, and have learning fit a work schedule8) Programs are interactive and active Students must actively work through assignments and problems. For more information on e-learning solutions contact Restaurant Ecademy.
